Umbrellas were the order of the day at Trent Bridge on Friday where Derbyshire were due to take on Nottinghamshire in their second t20 game of the season. Although the sun was shining at 2.30pm, a cloudburst at around 3pm, followed by persistent heavy rain meant that despite numerous inspections the game was finally called off at 6.15pm.

The t20 game at Trent Bridge was scheduled for a 5pm start to accomodate the England football match against Sweden. The ground conditions were actually more in keeping with football than cricket, and freestyle footballer Ollie Hayes was on hand to demonstrate his juggling skills as the rain poured down
