There were unprecedented scenes at the County Ground early on Friday morning when umpire David Millns was called to inspect the ground conditions almost 9 hours before the scheduled start. Despite playing conditions allowing a potential start time of 9.30pm, Millns made his decision without hesitation after observing the level of water on the outfield.
