January and February may not be traditionally associated with cricket in England, but that hasn’t stopped interest shown by the club’s supporters, with Derbyshire’s official site setting back-to-back records for unique visitors.
In fact, both months have shown an increase of over 1,500 unique visitors on the corresponding months in 2011 - January alone saw over 11,500 visitors to the site - as preparations and anticipation for the 2012 campaign continue to intensify.
Having initiated in March 2006, derbyshireccc.com has established itself as a fundamental aspect of Derbyshire’s ability to engage and inform supporters of the club and has steadily gained in popularity, with December 2011 seeing monthly visitor figures almost double from those of 2006.
The club’s website has recently been revamped and given a fresh look in time for the start of the new season and continues to provide supporters with all the very latest news from The County Ground as well as offering direct links to Derbyshire’s other premier media outlets from the club’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to the recently launched DerbyshireTV Youtube Channel.
Head of Media and Marketing Tom Holdcroft said ‘Having established the website in early 2006, it has been great to see the site evolve and increase in popularity over the last few years.
‘Despite the impressive visitor numbers, we know it is crucial to keep improving and with the new look, I think we are continuing to ensure Derbyshireccc.com provides a positive and enjoyable experience for our supporters.’
The club’s official website has not been the only focus of online activity in recent weeks, with the recent launch of Derbyshire’s sister site – thecountygroundderby.com – giving the ever-growing and popular Conference and Banqueting arm of the club’s operations a dedicated interactive medium in its own right.
The site contains all the latest news on forthcoming events as well as information on Corporate Events, Weddings, Gala Dinners, relevant contact details and much for; adding a new dimension to a venue that is quickly becoming one of the most established and prestigious in the region.
