Derbyshire’s first Boundary Club Luncheon of 2012 was a success on Wednesday, 14th March, as 120+ people gathered in the Gateway Centre at The County Ground to listen to the recollections of former professional footballer and current BBC pundit Steve Claridge.
As well as the speech, the afternoon event, which typically runs from 12pm to 2:30pm, also included an interview with Wayne Madsen, who outlined his plans and expectations for the forthcoming season; which begins officially at The County Ground on Thursday, April 5th.
Madsen clearly made a good impression on the Boundary Club’s Guest Speaker – who scored over 250 goals in an incredible 1000 professional outings – with Claridge later using the social media site Twitter to say ‘Thank you for a really nice time, good choice for captain by the way, decent fella!’
