Chesney Hughes says he will take confidence from an impressive individual display despite the pre-season defeat to Leicestershire.

Hughes was the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers with figures of 2 for 35 before top-scoring with 59 off 53 balls as the Falcons lost to the Foxes by 134 runs.

Hughes praised a clinical performance from Josh Cobb after the former England Under 19s opener fired the Foxes to 306-8 with a blistering century – and he looks ahead to the start of the Twenty20 Tournament at the Kensington Oval tomorrow.
