Derbyshire staff to take to the saddle

Nandos

Members of Derbyshire’s off-field team will be in Derby’s Market Square at 4pm on Thursday afternoon, having entered a team in Nando’s 900 mile static bike ride for Sport Relief.

Derbyshire staff will take it in turns to cycle for an hour to contribute to a quest of covering 900 miles for charity; the distance between Derby and Portugal where the popular food chain was founded.

Last week, members of Derbyshire’s first team squad took time out of their preparations for their pre-season trip to Barbados to lend their support, along with the club’s mascot, Freddie the Falcon.

The two day event in the city’s Cathedral Quarter, begins at 11am on Thursday 22nd until 6pm before concluding the following day.

The Cathedral Quarter’s relationship with Derbyshire County Cricket Club has been strengthening for some time, with Derbyshire members able to enjoy a wide variety of discounts – including 20% off in Nando’s – as part of the I Love the Cathedral Quarter Card, a card which can be obtained FREE simply by being a member; contact Alexa Dokic on 01332 388101 for details.
