The publication of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack is synonymous with the start of the county season, so to celebrate the 149th edition of cricket’s most famous book rolling off the presses, we’ve linked up with Wisden to offer you the chance to win one of three free copies.
Wisden has a new editor this year, Lawrence Booth, the youngest man to hold the office for more than 70 years. In his Notes by the Editor he comments perceptively on the major issues facing the sport: Test cricket’s uncertain future, the need for India to strike a balance between power and responsibility, and the ongoing confusion surrounding technology. Booth says cricketers everywhere need to take ownership of the corruption issue, and warns that the gap is growing between England’s Test set-up and the county game.
Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Year are Tim Bresnan, Glen Chapple, Alastair Cook, Alan Richardson and Kumar Sangakkara, who is also named as the Leading Cricketer in the World.
As ever, Wisden is the perfect companion for any cricket enthusiast, so to enter our great competition for a chance of winning your own copy - valued at £50 - simply answer the following question:
