Krikken issues rallying call to Derbyshire cricket fans

David WainwrightDerbyshire Head Coach Karl Krikken is calling on supporters to back Derbyshire’s bid for LV= County Championship promotion after the launch of a specially priced August/September Season Ticket.

The newly released ticket provides the most cost effective way for supporters to enjoy the final 16 days of home cricket, including the two day match versus South Africa in August and what promises to be an exciting run-in to the climax of the domestic season.

Krikken’s men lead the LV= County Championship Second Division by 14 points with six matches to go. Critical home games versus Kent, Essex and Hampshire remain as Derbyshire aim to secure First Division cricket for the first time since the turn of the century.

Priced at £59 or £49 for senior citizens, an August/September Season Ticket holder can gain over 400% value between now and the end of campaign. Further discounts are on offer for young adults (17-21) and teenagers. Junior Membership for those aged 0-13 on 31st March 2012 remains free of charge.

“We’re in a position from which we can mount a serious promotion challenge,” Krikken said.

“It’s an opportunity to go for glory and to make Derbyshire proud. We will give it everything between now and the end of the season.

“My message to supporters is we’re in it together, come and get behind us and let’s go for it.

“I’m pleased the Club has come up with a special ticket offer. I hope it’s a popular initiative and the players are boosted by sizeable crowds during what promises to be an exciting climax to the campaign.”
