Derbyshire launch online portal for messages of congratulations

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has been overwhelmed with the terrific public response, having secured the LV=County Championship Division Two title last week.

As the messages continue to flood in, the club has moved to ensure that all the texts, tweets, emails, messages and letters from supporters and well-wishers alike are collected in one online portal for the team and staff to read.

A link has been made available on the homepage of the Derbyshire official website enabling anybody to leave their congratulations and messages of support for the team.

Anybody can leave messages and forever be associated with a proud and momentous day for Derbyshire, simply by clicking on the available link, which will, in turn, be delivered straight to the club.

Chief Executive Simon Storey commented: “We are fully aware of the passion for the cricket club in Derbyshire, but it has been the response from as far as Cornwall to Scotland to the team’s achievement that has been breathtaking.

“It’s clear both the local and wider community have really engaged with Wayne Madsen and the team and the reaction after winning the LV=County Championship Division Two has been very inspiring.

“Everybody connected with Derbyshire is quite rightly proud of what has happened here this summer and we feel it is only right that the whole community should be able to be a part of it. This is a great way to do that and ensure a lasting legacy.”
