Derbyshire Head Coach Karl Krikken has been called up by the England Performance Programme for the second consecutive year and has flown out to India to join the coaching party.
Krikken, who has been asked by the ECB to fulfil the position of Specialist Wicketkeeping Coach on the tour, will return to the UK on December 17th.
The EPP squad - made up of developing young England prospects and including the likes of upcoming Test stars James Taylor and Jade Dernbach - will carry out an extensive training programme as well as playing matches in Mumbai and Pune during their time on the subcontinent.
Derbyshire Chief Executive Simon Storey commented: ‘Everybody at the club is delighted that Karl has again been asked to coach some of England’s most recognisable rising stars and it’s testament to his excellent reputation that he has once again been asked to perform the role.
‘I know Karl gained new insights about performance coaching from his previous trip to India in 2011 and I am sure his experiences this winter will again be of great benefit to Derbyshire County Cricket Club moving forward.’
Meanwhile, as per last winter’s successful preperations, pre-season training continues at the County Ground with Krikken’s coaching team preparing the squad for life in Division One of the LV=County Championship.
