Squad named for YB40 opener against Lancashire

FootittDerbyshire have named a 14-man squad for their opening Yorkshire Bank 40 fixture of the season against Lancashire Lightning on Sunday, 1.45pm start.

Bowling duo Mark Footitt (pictured) and Alasdair Evans have both been included after the pair impressed in the three day friendly against New Zealand last weekend.

Richard Johnson will take over the gloves from Tom Poynton, while 21-year-old all-rounder Alex Hughes has been included in his first squad of the season.

Both Tony Palladino and Mark Turner miss out on selection due to injury.

Derbyshire’s 14-man squad is as follows: Wayne Madsen, Chesney Hughes, Wes Durston, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dan Redfern, Richard Johnson, Jonathan Clare, Ross Whiteley, Billy Godleman, Alex Hughes, David Wainwright, Tim Groenewald, Mark Footitt and Alasdair Evans.

Sunday’s Yorkshire Bank 40 opener will be a family fun day and kids’ entertainment will be provided around the ground throughout the day. The Club’s pricing policy is such that a family of four can attend for just £32 if tickets are purchased by midnight tonight.
