Kids Go FreeFree kids tickets for the Derbyshire Falcons' Yorkshire Bank 40 matches versus Durham Dynamos and Hampshire Royals with the first ever national promotion during the school holidays.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that all 18 First Class Counties and Scotland will offer free tickets to children attending Yorkshire Bank 40 games during August.

A total of 31 games will be available free of charge - including the two Derbyshire Falcons home fixtures on Thursday 15th August and Bank Holiday Monday 26th August - for any child with a paying adult, as part of a ground-breaking ECB initiative which aims to attract more youngsters to watch live cricket at their local county during the school holidays.

David Collier, ECB Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to offer this unique opportunity to young cricket fans this summer as we look to take advantage of the increased interest cricket enjoys during an Ashes summer.

“I would encourage any parent whose child may be interested in the sport to get down to their local County ground and experience the game live during the school holidays."

Derbyshire Captain Wayne Madsen added: “Hopefully we will get big crowds to get behind the boys as we continue our 40-over campaign,” he said. “It will be great to see lots of families with their kids and we hope to provide them with an entertaining spectacle.

“By watching us - and from the atmosphere created at a one-day game - I hope the youngsters in the crowd will be inspired and encouraged to take up the sport in the future, both as spectators and as players.”
