Kids go FREE to Hampshire fixture this Bank Holiday Monday

TheCountyGroundKids can enjoy Derbyshire Falcons' Yorkshire Bank 40 clash against reigning champions Hampshire Royals for FREE this Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August (1.45pm start).

The England and Wales Cricket Board launched their first ever national promotion to allow school children to attend one-day fixtures at all 18 First Class Counties free of charge throughout August.

Karl Krikken’s men, featuring world number two Test batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, will go head-to-head with a Royals side likely to include internationals Dimi Mascarenhas, Neil Mckenzie, Michael Carberry and Danny Briggs.

Youngsters will gain free entry, if accompanied by a paying adult, to Derbyshire's 40-over fixture versus Hampshire - and Family Fun entertainment will be available. And Captain Wayne Madsen is calling for a performance to inspire youngsters.

“Hopefully we will get a big crowd to get behind the boys as we continue our 40-over campaign,” he said. “It will be great to see lots of families with their kids and we hope to provide them with an entertaining spectacle.

“By watching us - and from the atmosphere created at a one-day game - I hope the youngsters in the crowd will be inspired and encouraged to take up the sport in the future, both as spectators and as players.”
