Paul Borrington has been named in Derbyshire’s 12-man squad for their LV= County Championship fixture at Surrey, beginning on Thursday 29th August (11am start).
The 25-year-old features in his first four-day squad of the season in the absence of Chesney Hughes who has flown to the United States for the birth of his first child.
Tim Groenewald is also unavailable after the birth of his first child earlier this week, but Tony Palladino has been included in the matchday squad and is set to feature in his first Championship fixture since mid-June.
Spinner David Wainwright has been recalled to the squad, offering Karl Krikken an extra spinning option for the fixture at the Kia Oval. Dan Redfern, Jonathan Clare and Mark Turner, however, have all been ruled out due to injury.
Surrey will be boosted by the addition of world number one Test batsman Hashim Amla who has joined the county for the remainder of the season. Gareth Batty's side, however, are yet to win a Championship fixture this season and enter the match on the back of a heavy innings and 144-run defeat against Durham.
Jade Dernbach will be unavailable for the fixture due to his involvement in England's two Twenty20 Internationals with Australia.

Derbyshire enter the game in high spirits after the recent wins, and Head Coach Krikken insists his side will be ready for the challenging week ahead.
“We are buzzing,” he said. “The guys have been exceptional over the last two Championship fixtures and are now looking forward to the challenges ahead this week.
“We will make sure we do everything right over the next few days so we are properly prepared. It’s no secret that the next two games are massive for us. It’s just a question of making sure we do everything right and be prepared."
