Derbyshire welcome Warwickshire to the County Ground for the final LV= County Championship fixture of the season, starting on Tuesday 24th September (10.30am start).
And Karl Krikken's men know only a victory will give them a chance of remaining in Division One for a second season.
A brutal spell of bowling from Graham Onions condemned Derbyshire to defeat - and only a four point haul - from their penultimate game of the campaign against champions-elect Durham last week.
Somerset, meanwhile, claimed a seven-wicket win over bottom club Surrey to leapfrog Wayne Madsen's men out of the relegation places.
The Taunton-based club sit 16 points ahead of second-bottom Derbyshire; while Nottinghamshire sit just 15 points in front.
In the final round of fixtures - starting Tuesday - Nottinghamshire will entertain Somerset, and Krikken's side know that a win for either team at Trent Bridge - or a low scoring draw - will leave the door open for Derbyshire to seal survival.
But regardless of other results, Derbyshire have to beat 2012 champions Warwickshire to keep their chances of avoiding the drop alive.
Dougie Brown's side may have relinquished their Division One crown, but they will be looking to end their campaign in winning fashion as they chase a top three finish.
Varun Chopra is the county's leading scorer after accumulating 994 runs this season, while batsman Laurie Evans has enjoyed his best campaign to date hitting 898 runs.
Chesney Hughes has been included in Derbyshire’s 15-man squad for their final LV= County Championship fixture of the season. The 22-year-old is back in contention for a place in Krikken’s side after recently returning to the UK after the birth of his first child.
Richard Johnson - who suffered a hand injury against Durham - is also passed fit to play this week. Dan Redfern, however, is still unavailable due to injury.
Derbyshire's squad to play Warwickshire is as follows:
