WayneMadsenCaptain Wayne Madsen has been awarded with the Elizabeth Flintoff Memorial Cup after being named the 2013 Members’ Player of the Year.

The 29-year enjoyed the best campaign of his career, reaching 1,000 first-class runs for the first time while leading his side to three four-day victories in the county's first year back in the top flight of county cricket for over a decade.

The right-handed batsman completed three first-class centuries at a fraction over 45 in 2013 to date and is currently the leading run scorer in Division One of the LV= County Championship.

During a remarkable season, Madsen was also the first man to reach 1,000 Championship runs achieving the feat during the four-day fixture with Middlesex at the County Ground in August.

He was also the inaugural Christopher Martin-Jenkins Spirit of Cricket Elite Award - presented to a professional cricketer who showed exceptional sportsmanship during the 2013 season - for his spirited display against Yorkshire at Queen's Park, Chesterfield in July.

Madsen was presented with the Elizabeth Flintoff Memorial Cup at the start of the lunch interval on Day Three against Warwickshire at the County Ground.
