Cricket Derbyshire University of Derby Academy member Harvey Hosein has been selected to take part in the England Development Programme this winter.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was a regular in Stephen Stubbings’ Second XI this season, compiling 119 runs and displaying exceptional skill behind the stumps.
His performances has warranted the 17-year-old a call-up to the England Development Programme, who will be holding a training camp at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough.
The development camp will lead into a competitive training camp in Sri Lanka during the Easter holiday, which will feature fixtures against Sri Lanka Under-17.
England Development Programme Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney OBE said: “This winter will offer great development opportunities for this squad of young players.
“The England Development Programme squad will have a great opportunity to develop their games at a world class facility at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough, with access to a variety of leading coaches, plus later a training camp in Sri Lanka testing their skills under extremely tough conditions.”
