Derbyshire Advent Calendar: Day Two

DerbyshireAdventJoin Derbyshire County Cricket Club as we countdown to Christmas with our very own special Derbyshire Advent Calendar.

Each day in December we will open a new door on the Derbyshire digital Advent Calendar, available on our Facebook page, revealing a new surprise each day.

We will be publishing videos, running competitions and posting special promotional offers throughout the festive period as we continue our build-up to Christmas and the 2014 season, which beings with a trip to Grace Road to face Leicestershire in the LV= County Championship on Sunday 6th April.

December 2nd
Today we open the second door on the Derbyshire Advert Calendar to reveal our interview with Jonathan Clare, as the all-rounder sat down with former Falcon Jake Needham to answer quick-fire questions about his Derbyshire team-mates.

Who is the most talented player?
Chesney Hughes. He can take a game away from anyone.

Who is the biggest joker in the squad?
I will go for David Wainwright. His Yorkshire demeanour is very funny.

Who is the worst driver?
I’m not very good, I’ll be honest. But it has to be Tony Palladino he’s the worst driver. He can have a full conversation with the people in the back and not look at the road. His conversation is more important than where he’s going.

Who has the safest hands?
I know Wes shelled a few last year, but he caught a few off me and he’s usually very reliable.

Who’s the toughest bowler you’ve faced while you’ve been on the staff at Derbyshire?
Danish Kaneria at Chelmsford was a very difficult proposition.

Which player is most likely to be late for training?
I think we all know the answer to this. It’s Chesney Hughes and it really gets me angry so Ches sort it out!

Your favourite match for Derbyshire?
It has to be my debut.

During December, we will also be running competitions on our official Twitter account. This week, it's your chance to win a replica 2013 Twenty20 shirt signed by the Derbyshire squad.

To win this extra special prize, simply retweet the post on Twitter and follow us. Winner will be chosen on Thursday 5th December at 5pm. For more information visit our Twitter account. Click here>>>
