Have a Blast with new Twenty20 competition

NatWestT20BlastIntroducing NatWest T20 Blast, the new domestic Twenty20 competition from the 2014 season.

Blast sums up what the new-look competition is all about – big hits, big entertainment and a big social occasion.

Derbyshire will play more cricket than ever before on the evening synonymous with having a good night out with famly and/or friends; Friday, when over 70% of matches nationwide will take place.

After all testing and research, one name for the new competition came out on top – Blast. A name endorsed by you, the supporters.

Beyond the name, what has changed?
From 2014, a variety of structural changes are being made to domestic cricket following extensive fan research, led by the NatWest T20 Blast.

From next year the group stage of the Twenty20 competition will be played across 10 weeks starting on Friday 16th May when Derbyshire travel to Grace Road to face Leicestershire.

The tournament will comprise two groups, North and South, each with nine teams. Derbyshire are in the North group and will compete in 14 matches, seven at home and seven away.

18 teams
2 groups (North & South)
126 group games
14 games per team (7 home & 7 away)
10 weeks of unmissable action
4 quarter-finals and Finals Day
For tied games, teams will compete in a Super Over
But most importantly, just under 70% of games are on a Friday night!
