Derbyshire Cricket Board announce new structure and directors

CricketDerbyshireThe Derbyshire Cricket Board has reacted to changes in the landscape of cricket in the county, and nationally, following a root and branch review of the recreational game.

Five new Directors have been appointed – and a new structure announced - by the Derbyshire Cricket Board, which is responsible for the recreational game throughout the county as well as the development of age group cricketers.

The changes have been inspired by the recently announced Elite Cricket Department that will see the need for increased alignment and partnership between Derbyshire County Cricket Club and DCB; as well as the shift to developing, in conjunction with the cricket network, locally led products and services as encouraged by the England & Wales Cricket Board and Sport England to sustain and increase cricket participation.

The new structure, which has undergone a series of consultations with representatives of member organisations, establishes four pillars of delivery; Senior Cricket, Junior Cricket, Elite Cricket Department and Commercial, with a newly appointed Director being accountable for the delivery of each pillar.

Chairman Dave Bull commented: “I would like to thank all retiring Directors for their services over last three years, particularly Jon Salisbury as retiring Chairman.

“The outlook for cricket in Derbyshire is very exciting. The new Directors and structure provides a clear direction for the DCB and our partners to support and develop the needs of recreational cricket in Derbyshire and Derbyshire County Cricket Club.”
