Mark Footitt took career-best figures of 6-48, and reached 50 first-class wickets for the season, as Derbyshire moved to within touching distance of their second successive LV= County Championship win.
Derbyshire added 99 runs to their overnight total to take the lead past a hundred, with Tony Palladino scoring 35, David Wainwright 33 and Footitt finishing 16 not out as Derbyshire were all out for 241, a lead of 103.
Footitt (6-48) then produced a ferocious spell to reduce Glamorgan to 89-7 at Tea, before Taylor (3-27) and Wainwright (1-15) took the remaining wickets as Derbyshire dismissed the visitors for 175 in their second innings to leave a victory target of 73 for the hosts.
In the morning, Derbyshire will require 60 more runs to win after closing on 13-1 having faced eight overs at the end of Day Two.
Derbyshire lost both of their overnight batsmen early on Day Two, with both Gareth Cross (6) and Alex Hughes (5) being bowled by Michael Hogan to bring Wainwright and Palladino to the crease.
Wainwright and Palladino shared a 73-run stand for the ninth wicket to give their side a sizeable lead before Palladino was caught at mid-off for 33. Footitt (16*) added some late valuable runs and helped take Derbyshire’s lead past 100 by hitting three boundaries off one Dean Cosker over.
Wainwright was the final wicket to fall, caught behind off Hogan for 35, and Derbyshire were all out for 241 at Lunch with a first-innings lead of 103.
Footitt returned after Lunch to deliver a devastating spell of bowling. First, William Bragg (2) chipped Footitt to Tom Taylor at mid-on before Footitt found the edge of Murray Goodwin without scoring.
The wicket was a special one, as it moved the left-arm seamer to 50 first-class wickets for the season - the first time Footitt had reached the milestone in a campaign.
Footitt, for the first time in his career, then went on to take his 50th LV= County Championship wicket of the season, bowling Chris Cooke for 9.
Footitt’s third five-wicket haul of the year came soon after as Ben Wright top-edged for wicket-keeper Gareth Cross to catch for 15 and leave Glamorgan struggling on 42-5, still 61 runs behind.
Tom Taylor took the next two wickets, enticing the edge of both Jim Allenby (17) and Mark Wallace (25) as Glamorgan reached Tea on 89-7, trailing by 14 runs.
After Tea, Taylor bowled Cosker for 19 before Harris edged Footitt through to Cross to leave him with career-best figures of 6-48 off 15 overs.
The final Glamorgan wicket was that of Will Owen, who was bowled by Wainwright for 28, to leave Glamorgan all out for 175 and Derbyshire needing 73 to win their second LV= County Championship match in a week.
At stumps, Derbyshire were 13-1, needing a further 60 runs to win, with Wayne Madsen nine not out and Ben Slater unbeaten on one.
Footitt said: “Everything clicked for me today and it came just when we needed it. I’m just concentrating on doing well for Derbyshire, that’s all I can do, keep performing and see what happens.”
