Mark Turner has left Derbyshire after the Club elected not to offer him a new contract for next season.
The 29-year-old arrived at The 3aaa County Ground in 2011 and has since played 21 first-class matches, taking 43 wickets at an average of 44.25.
The former Durham and Somerset fast-bowler made 41 appearances in limited-overs formats, adding a further 49 dismissals.
Confirmation was received this morning of Turner’s decision to leave with immediate effect and he has joined Northamptonshire for the remainder of the season.
Elite Performance Director Graeme Welch said: “It’s sad to see Mark go because he’s been a terrific character to have around and a really positive influence on the field and in the dressing room.
“Thank you to him for his efforts and we all wish him all the best.
“Meanwhile, we’re continuing to work hard behind the scenes to build a winning squad for 2015.”
