The Tickets and Membership Department enjoyed their busiest day of pre-season yesterday, as supporters continue to take advantage of 2012 Membership at Derbyshire as the season draws ever nearer.
As well as those renewing, there were encouraging signs as supporters gripped with the anticipation of a brand new season under the stewardship of Karl Krikken and Wayne Madsen decided to sign up and join Derbyshire for the very first time for what promises to be a fantastic summer of cricket.
The popularity of memberships has also coincided with back to back records for the official website in terms of unique visitors in the months of January and February, whilst the club’s Twitter account – which saw supporters enjoy over by over updates on the recent Barbados tour – now sees over 2,500 people follow the club’s fortunes via the social media tool.
The club announced membership categories and prices on November 1st of last year with a view to making membership at Derbyshire both widely accessible and great value for money and the initial response and consequent uptake has been positive and encouraging ahead of the Northants match on Thursday, April 5th.
Members will automatically experience great value on Good Friday, when they can bring unlimited guests to Day Two of the LV=County Championship contest against the aforementioned Northants, a day that will also see the first Members’ Lunch of the campaign take place at The County Ground.

With the final day of March seeing the first action of 2012 – Yorkshire the visitors in a 50 over each contest from 10:45am, The County Ground is looking immaculate as the ground staff put the finishing touches to the square in anticipation of the return of cricket.
Pre-season preparations will conclude with a two day fixture versus Warwickshire on Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd April with 11am starts before the serious stuff begins.
Entry to all three days of the imminent friendly matches are free of charge with the Gateway Centre open for business should any supporter wish to sign up for the 2012 season.
