The Derbyshire County Cricket Club General Committee has declared unanimous support for the Chairman’s recent personal statement and ambitions for the club’s future.
Chris Grant penned his statement last week outlining his vision for the Club which is designed to ensure a sustainable future for Derbyshire. Competing for silverware and producing England players are at the top of his forward-thinking agenda.
Simon Storey, the new Chief Executive, also presented the Committee with his own preliminary thoughts concerning the future commercial development of the Club which were similarly endorsed by the Committee.
Colin Gardner, the former Chairman of the Derbyshire County Cricket Supporters Club tendered his resignation from the County Cricket Club Committee earlier in the day. The Committee recorded their thanks to Colin for his contribution during a long association with the Club.
With the team standing top of the LV= County Championship Division 2 table and a promising pipeline of young, home grown players coming through the Academy, the Club continues to focus all efforts on building a long-term, sustainable future.
