Messages of support - Part One

For a few weeks, Derbyshire have been inviting supporters through derbyshireccc.com to register their messages of congratulations following Derbyshire’s title-winning 2012 campaign.

The club has been delighted with the response and below is a small selection of the kind messages received, with many more to follow.

Supporters can still register messages of support through the splash page of the website.

Paul Sheppard:

I just want to say to all at DCCC, players, staff etc a big thank you and congratulations on the season, against the odds you made Derbyshire proud!!! Looking forward to next season already!!

Phil Capp:

Absolutely brilliant, guys, and well-deserved. I've followed the club since 1964 (!) and this ranks as just about the greatest achievement in that time, I think. Can't wait for Div One in 2013. Congratulations to everyone involved, and thanks to the guys on the park for putting a smile on my face. Fantastic.

Kev Hales:

Well done Derbyshire. Every year I place a £10 bet at the start of the season on Derbyshire winning Division two, a few years ago a chap in Corals told me he loved customers like me. No chance.
But yes you guessed it this season I decided to put my £10 on winning the CB40. Bloomin’ typical. Still no doubt we will be up and winning Div 1 next season. Good luck.

Mr Jason Webb:

Congratulations, well-done and many thanks to Derbyshire County Cricket Club for the promotion-title winning season just gone back into Division 1 which is long overdue and hope next season exceeds everyone's expectations.

Keith Lomas:

Living in Sweden since 1972, I have only been able to see Derbyshire sporadically since. However, my heart has always been with the club, with the ball-by-ball scorecards on my desktop at all times, watching the ECB video reports and reading the club news. How wonderful then that my home county have done so brilliantly this year with such outstanding performances that so many of the players have made significant contributions to. Well done and good luck for next year.

Mark Fairbrother:

Many congratulations to all at "the shire". I left Derby in 1981 but have followed Derbyshire ever since. I dashed home from work early each day to catch the last session against Hants. Can't wait to see you guys at the Oval next year, best wishes and have a great winter, you deserve it.

A Middleton:

Well done to all concerned,it has been worth waiting for we all hope the team can do well next season.

Matt Thomas:

Yippee! Champions! Bravo to all at Derbyshire CCC! Over the last couple of seasons, I'm aware of a real top-to-bottom overhaul at the club. This season we have just reaped the harvest. I sense a new pride and optimism about the club. I have just fallen back in love with DCCC! Well done to those who have achieved stability in the board-room and with the accounts.  Big shout to KMK for keeping the players focused and "workin' ard". Let's get stuck into 'em next season!

Richard Mather:

I've been following Derbyshire since the days of Hendrick, Tunnicliffe, Taylor and Hill, and in that time I've rarely, if ever, felt so pleased and proud of a group of players as I have this season. Well done, and best of luck for 2013/14.

Paul Fitzpatrick:

Congratulations to all members of staff at the club. I have followed the club since 1971 including 5 Lords finals but the achievements this year have given me the most pleasure .Please continue with the calm ,clear direction both on and off the field ,recruit wisely and maintain your obvious team ethic and bring on next season .Happy Days!!
