Derbyshire name unchanged squad for Scotland

HughesDerbyshire have named an unchanged squad for their Yorkshire Bank 40 fixture against the Scottish Saltires at the County Ground tonight (Thursday, 20th June); 4.40pm start.

The Falcons will be looking to get their Group B campaign back on track, after they suffered a 46-run defeat against Hampshire on Tuesday night - despite the best efforts of Dan Redfern, who top-scored with 53, and Paul Borrington, who hit a List A career-best 42.

The fixture will be the second one-day encounter between the two sides this season - after Derbyshire claimed a convincing six-wicket victory at Edinburgh in May thanks to Mark Footitt‘s five wickets and 74 off 73 balls from Chesney Hughes.

Scotland will visit Derby for the first time since May 2008, when a Chris Rogers inspired Falcons claimed a six-wicket victory in a rain-affected 50-over contest.

Derbyshire, who still have a game in hand over the teams around them, currently sit in fifth place and four points behind leaders Hampshire, will be hoping to return to winning ways against Scotland, who are yet to claim their first win of the campaign and sit bottom of Group B.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club will fly their Club flag at half mast during the fixture in memory of David Smyth, a local cricket enthusiast who sadly passed away last week. Smyth, an employee at Club partner Virgin Active, represented local Club side Stainsby Hall and was good friends with a number of the Derbyshire players after previously training with the Club.

Derbyshire squad in full is as follows:

Paul Borrington
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
