Take advantage of the Derbyshire Membership Price Freeze

The club has been delighted with the response following the release of the 2013 membership categories and prices and there is still time for supporters to take advantage of FROZEN PRICES on membership at the County Ground.

Despite Derbyshire’s promotion to the top tier of the LV=County Championship, membership remains at 2012 prices for all who purchase membership before February 1st.

This means that full membership equates to just £3.20 a day for all days of cricket at the County Ground and Queen’s Park, including next year’s tourist match against New Zealand.

Derbyshire launch 2013 Academy

Cricket Derbyshire has announced its Academy intake for 2013 and a groundbreaking Academy partnership with the University of Derby.

The intake includes 12 Academy Members plus Ben Cotton who, having graduated from the programme last year, will captain the side as well as being a key member of the Second XI programme.

Six new players are included as Derbyshire continue to place emphasis on establishing talented home-grown cricketers: Perrijay Blair, Aaron Hibell, Callum Brodrick, Rob Hemmings, Rahib Ali and Harry Killoran.

Madsen delighted with Chanderpaul capture

Derbyshire captain Wayne Madsen has exclusively told derbyshireccc.com that the signing of Shivnarine Chanderpaul provides ‘another big boost to the players and everybody involved at the club.’

Madsen, who guided Derbyshire to the LV-County Championship Division Two title in September, was speaking after the club confirmed the signing of the West Indies legend; who averages 51.67 from 146 Tests and is the ninth highest Test run-scorer of all time.

‘It’s fantastic. He’s ranked the second best batsman in the world at the moment and it is a huge coup for the club’ said Madsen.

Derbyshire sign Chanderpaul

ChanderpaulThe current number two Test batsman in the world, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, has signed for Derbyshire.

The West Indies left-hander has penned a two-year contract with the Club retaining first option for a third season. He is expected to be available for all three domestic competitions throughout the 2013 campaign.

Chanderpaul has played 146 Tests for his country, scoring over 10,500 runs at an average of 51.67 with 27 centuries. He sits ninth in the list of all-time leading Test run-scorers and currently occupies second position in the ICC Test Batting rankings.

The 38-year-old also boasts impressive One Day International statistics with over 8,700 runs at an average of 41.60 coming from 268 appearances.

Krikken bullish over Derbyshire prospects

KarlKrikkenKarl Krikken says the sky is the limit for his young side following promotion to Division 1 of the LV= County Championship.

The Derbyshire Head Coach told www.ecb.co.uk his side are equipped for the challenge and will be aiming to win every match.

Derbyshire seek charity partners

DCCC logoCricket Derbyshire is inviting applications for up to three official charity partners in 2013.

Selected partners will work closely with the club throughout the year to support their fundraising efforts and to increase recognition for their cause.

Charities can be local or national but must be active in the county of Derbyshire. Applications should aim to demonstrate a relevance to cricket in Derbyshire and a positive impact on the local community.

Offices now open and Membership on sale

MembershipThe Derbyshire County Cricket Club offices have now re-opened following the Christmas and New Year break and Membership is continuing to sell well – still at 2012 prices – ahead of the 2013 season.

Despite promotion to Division One of the LV=County Championship, membership prices at Derbyshire have been frozen for 2013 if purchased before February 1st, 2013.

This means that full membership equates to just £3.20 a day for all days of cricket at the County Ground and Queen’s Park, including next year’s tourist match against New Zealand.
