Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with University of Derby graduate Peter Burgoyne made his LV= County Championship debut for the Club in the Division One victory over Sussex in 2013.
The off-spinning all-rounder has been with the Club since the age of 13 and has progressed through the age groups and is now firmly part of the first-team fold.
He made his senior debut in 2011 during a summer that also included eight appearances for England Under-19, the highlight of which was his performance with the ball in a one-day match against South Africa in Canterbury, when he took 4 for 8 from 6.2 overs to help England to a two-wicket victory.
Burgoyne made his first-class debut in October 2012 with an unbeaten century for Southern Rocks against Mashonaland Eagles in Zimbabwe's Logan Cup.
He made his first-class debut for Derbyshire in their three-day tour match against New Zealand in May 2013, before going on to play five Championship games that season. In that time, he compiled 168 runs, including an unbeaten 62 against Sussex, while also claiming six wickets. He also featured in nine limited-overs games for Derbyshire in 2013.
