Meet the off the field team at Derbyshire County Cricket Club:
A highly successful 20 year career in the City has provided Chris with a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience for the position of Finance Director. Furthermore, since becoming Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club in March 2011, he has drafted and overseen the implementation of the Club's widely acclaimed Nine Point Cricket Strategy, as well as presiding over on-field LV= County Championship promotion as champions, masterminding two successive profitable years and releasing the Club's future strategy for long-term business sustainability and financial security.
David’s company Office Care Ltd is one of the leading cleaning service suppliers in the UK. Having built his leading business from scratch, David has overseen the cross-selling of cricket to his impressive database of corporate contacts. He is the current Derbyshire County Cricket Club Vice Chairman.
41 years as a Member of the Club, including 14 years on the General Committee and eight years as Honorary Secretary have provided David with huge knowledge of the workings of the Club, its history and tradition and its Membership. His local government experience garnered through employment with Nottingham City Council will also prove valuable to the Advisory Board.
With first-hand and extensive experience of the recreational, developmental and professional games in Derbyshire, Kevin can provide valuable insight into all levels of the pyramid structure. Having ended his professional career as recently as 2008 – and still performing at the highest level of the recreational game – he is fully attuned to the needs of the modern day game.
A wealth of experience at the very top of the construction industry ensures that Sir John is ideally qualified to assist Derbyshire CCC with its proposed ground development. He is also in an excellent position to help the Club continue to develop its facilities and income generation off the field.
Recognised by the Legal 500 for his work with clients, Rob is a high-flying Partner and Head of Employment at local law firm Flint Bishop. His specialism is Employment Law and he is an invaluable source of advice to DCCC on contracts and other legal matters.
Regional Reps are appointed by the Supervisory Board to represent Cricket Derbyshire (DCCC and DCB) and look after the interests of the members and supporters in their respective region. Their activities include attending events as an official representative of Cricket Derbyshire, hosting members forums, assisting with introductions to potential sponsors and dealing with member's feedback. In most cases, the Regional Representative will be able to deal with a member's enquiry but they do have a direct line to the Chief Executive's team and will feedback comments and questions, where appropriate, directly to the Club. The Regional Reps focus is on the Club’s off-field activities and they are not in a position to comment on or influence what goes on on-the-field.
I am a solicitor, practising in Rotherham and Sheffield and have been a Derbyshire CCC member since 1972, and have had two spells as a member of the general committee, firstly from 1984-93 and then secondly from 2007-13. I have been a Vice President of DCCC for the last 20 years following a spell from 1985-93 as Chairman.
I am a member of the MCC and was the Chairman of the TCCB working party on the admission of Durham as a first-class county 1989-91. I was President of Rotherham Town C.C. 1992-2005.
I attended my first game at the County Ground in June 1947.
After retirement from Industry in 1994, I joined the Club soon afterwards and in 1997 was co-opted to the Committee at the request of Guy Willatt and Vic Brownett to use my contacts for the benefit of the Club and its development plans. I was elected to the General Committee the following year and have been re-elected on each occasion since including the 2013 election.
As a Regional Representative in the Derbyshire Dales area and living in Ashford in the Water for over 40 years, I know most of the grounds in the area from my own village to those in Great Longstone, Baslow, Chatsworth, Darley Dale, Matlock, Bakewell and Youlgrave and would be happy to be the link between them and the County Club to the benefit of both.
I am also a Member of the MCC and Lord's Taverners Midland Region Committee.
Occupation: Commercial Loans, HSBC
Member for 8 years and committee for 6, co opted by Don Amott. Derbyshire born and lifelong supporter of all things associated with our County. Have lived in Staffordshire for 16 years and have represented HSBC Bank in both counties, now based in Birmingham. Have enjoyed being part of the progress at the County Ground over recent years with the focus on home grown talent and prudent financial governance alongside demonstrable ground and commercial improvements. Keen to develop our support and membership in Staffordshire which has and continues to produce talented players to represent Derbyshire through a highly valued partnership arrangement.
I am a retired engineer and have lived in the High Peak area all my life. I have been Honorary Secretary of the High Peak Cricket Society since 1998 and Honorary Secretary of the Council of Cricket Societies since 2002. I have been a member of Derbyshire County Cricket Club for many years and am also an Associate Member of MCC.
I am joint Managing Director of a local family business, which has traded in Derby City Centre since 1929. I have been watching Derbyshire CCC since the mid 1970’s, and been a Member since 2009.
I hope that, as regional representative for Erewash, I will be a reliable link between the club and the members in my locality, and also be able to assist communication between the County and local cricket clubs.
I am a retired Chartered Accountant living at Upper Langwith in the north of the county. I have watched the county team, initially at Chesterfield, since the late 1940s and became a member in 1971. In 2000 I was elected to the General Committee as Honorary Treasurer, a position held until the reorganisation in 2013 when I was made a Vice President. I am a regular attendee at county games both home and away. This season I have been a volunteer at the newly refurbished Cricket Derbyshire Book Shop at the County Ground which helps raise funds for the club.
In winter months I attend and am a member of Derbyshire Cricket Society and Chesterfield Cricket Lovers having previously been Honorary Treasurer of the former for several years.
