The Chairman’s Message.

With the great strides that have been made in player recruitment during the close season, I would now like to urge the local community and businesses to come and support Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 2008.

With the exciting quintet of new signings that our new Head of Cricket John Morris has made - England all-rounder Rikki Clarke, Sri Lankan batting sensation Mahela Jayawardene, West Indian international batsman Wavell Hinds, former Leicestershire batsman John Sadler and accomplished left-arm spinner Nayan Doshi from Surrey – I believe that with the support of the local community behind us - we can achieve great things in 2008.

I have never felt so excited about a new season and April really can't come quickly enough.
