Under 16’s FREE at Chesterfield Festival
Date Posted: 26-07-2010

Starting with Derbyshire Falcons v Yorkshire Carnegie on Sunday 8th August, it’s the fifth anniversary of the Chesterfield Festival of Cricket – and under 16’s are FREE.

Play begins at 1.45pm in the Falcons versus Carnegie. Then Northamptonshire are the visitors for a four day LV = County Championship fixture starting on the following day.

A Clydesdale Bank 40 visit from Yorkshire Carnegie harks back to the 80’s and 90’s when one day fixtures between the two neighbouring counties became something of a tradition.

The Northamptonshire fixture, meanwhile, follows a gripping encounter at the same venue a year ago when the visitors dented Derbyshire’s promotion ambitions with a two wicket victory.

Derbyshire returned to Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, after a seven year gap in 2006 and since then the community has been treated to glimpses of a wide variety of domestic and international stars.

The forthcoming week of cricket is no different and is set to feature the likes of Jacque Rudolph, Anthony McGrath, Andrew Gale, Adil Rashid, Tim Bresnan, Tino Best, Andrew Hall and Nicky Boje as well as Derbyshire’s international duo of Chris Rogers and Robin Peterson.

The kids are off school, the setting is one of the most picturesque in world cricket and the stage is set for a thoroughly enjoyable five days for all the family.

Tickets for matches at the Chesterfield Festival of Cricket are available in advance for the reduced price of £13 in the following ways:
