After joining Derbyshire from Durham in 2004, Ian Hunter took 34 wickets the following year at an average of 44.29.

The following season brought 36 wickets at an average of 36.88 before an ankle injury shortened his season.

Injury limited Hunter to eight first team appearances in 2007 before he went on to start 12 matches in all competitions the following year.



Hunter then forced his way into the team at the beginning of the 2009 season and - in playing the first seven matches of the campaign – he took 21 wickets at an average of 28.23, including two five wicket hauls.
